Books for People of Color

Flossie and the Fox by Patricia Mckissak

This is an African-American adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood. I remember reading this in one of my English classes last year and it was absolutely fantastic. I want to read this to one of my kids one day.

Definitely one of my childhood favorites. This and Amazing Grace were the first books that I read that actually had characters that looked like me. Representation matters.
